Obituary of Janis Heard Fincher

Funeral services for Janis Heard Fincher, age 68, of Roanoke, will be held Sunday, November 15, 2015, at 3:00 pm from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Grady Smith and Rev. Tim Whaley officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 pm on Sunday. Ms. Fincher died Friday, November 13, 2015, at Embracing Hospice in Cumming, Georgia. Survivors include four daughters, Michelle Ireland (husband, David) of Cumming, Ga., Cindy Perry (husband, Rob) of Wedowee, Angie Mitchem (husband, Donald) of Stockbridge, Ga. and Emilee Phillips (husband, Ben) of Opelika; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Robinson, Wendell Luker, Fred Allen, Zackary Christian, Scott Gambrel and Andrew Vollenweider. A Roanoke native, Ms. Fincher was born January 21, 1947, the daughter of Grover D. and Verval Bennett Heard. She was a member of Roanoke First Baptist Church and had owned/operated A & J Tax Service in Roanoke. She was preceded in death by her parents.
