Obituary of Scott Edward Knoll

Funeral services for Scott Edward Knoll, age 31, of Ball Ground, GA, will be held Thursday, October 22, 2015, at 6:00 pm (Eastern time) from Striffler-Hamby Funeral Home in Phenix City with Rev. Ralph Barrow officiating. Quattlebaum Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at Quattlebaum Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm (Central time) on Wednesday, October 21st. The family will also receive friends from 5:00-6:00 pm (Eastern time) on Thursday, October 22nd at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary in Phenix City.
Mr. Knoll died on Monday, October 19, 2015, at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta.
Survivors include his wife, Shannon Knoll of Ball Ground, GA; daughter, McKenzie Knoll of Ball Ground; son, Elijah Knoll of Ball Ground; step-daughter, Riley Lupien of Ball Ground; step-son, Dakota Lupien of Ball Ground; father, Edward Knoll (wife, Lorraine) of Roanoke; sister, Cindy Knoll of Smiths Station; half-brother, Kyle Knoll of Roanoke; step-sister, Elizabeth Lucas of New York City; step-brother, Ryan Gunn of Tuscaloosa.
Mr. Knoll was born November 22, 1983, the son of Edward Arnold Knoll and Valerie Lynn Knoll. He had been employed as a deputy with Russell County sheriff’s department. He was preceded in death by his mother, Valerie Lynn Knoll; grandfather, Richard L. Knoll, Sr.; grandmother, Flora Christine Knoll; grandmother, Rosemary Petersen.
The family will accept flowers or contributions to the Piedmont Hospital’s Heart Transplant Program (1968 Peachtree Road NW, Atlanta, GA 30309).

Quattlebaum’s was founded in 1930 by Robert B. Quattlebaum on Roanoke’s West Point Street. Relocated to Maple Drive, Quattlebaum Funeral Home was just across from Knight Sanatorium for many years. In 1953, a new building was constructed on College Street – where the funeral home is today.
