Obituary of Ioan Siggers Greene

Funeral services for Ioan Siggers Greene, age 95, of Roanoke will be held on Friday, October 9, 2015, at 11:00 AM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ritchie Farrow, Rev. Ken Griffith, and Rev. Stanley Yarbrough officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, October 8, 2015.
Mrs. Greene passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at Traylor’s Nursing Center.
Survivors include: one daughter, Mary Frances Clack (husband, Manley) of Roanoke; two grandchildren, Charles William Clack (wife, Melinda) of Wetumpka and Mary Ellen Clack of Roanoke; two great-grandchildren, Will Clack and Andy Clack; and two brothers, J.C. Siggers of Danville, VA, and Richard Siggers of Florida.
Pallbearers will be Andy Clack, Will Clack, Daryl Harmon, David Harmon, Brent Matthews, and Ted Strain.
A Randolph County native, Mrs. Greene was born on December 4, 1919, the daughter of John Clyde and Frances Cummings Siggers. She was a member of High Pine Baptist Church and worked as a winder for West Point Pepperell. Mrs. Greene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry F. Greene; one son, Bill Greene; four sisters; and five brothers.
Memorials may be floral or donations may be made to High Pine Baptist Church, 1048 Chestnut Street, Roanoke, AL 36274.

Quattlebaum’s was founded in 1930 by Robert B. Quattlebaum on Roanoke’s West Point Street. Relocated to Maple Drive, Quattlebaum Funeral Home was just across from Knight Sanatorium for many years. In 1953, a new building was constructed on College Street – where the funeral home is today.
