Obituary of Hoyt H. Waldrep

Funeral services for Hoyt H. Waldrep, age 99, of Hixson, Tennessee, formerly of Roanoke, will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015, at 3:00 PM from Roanoke Church of Christ with Bro. Gerald Romine officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00-3:00 PM on Saturday, August 29, 2015. Mr. Waldrep passed away Friday, August 28, 2015, at his residence. Survivors include: one son, Larry Waldrep (wife, Patricia) of Hixson, TN; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Brett H. Waldrep, Michael B. Waldrep, Larry R. Waldrep, Jr., Matthew Todd West, S.A. Kidd, and Roy Bennett. A Roanoke native, Mr. Waldrep was born on November 15, 1915, the son of Roy and Annie Lou Waldrep. He was a member of Roanoke Church of Christ, served in the Army during World War II, and worked as a machine fixer for Palm Beach Company. Mr. Waldrep was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Martha Waldrep; a daughter, Cindy Waldrep West; one sister, Annie Lee Kirby; and one brother, Marion C. Waldrep.
