Obituary of Raymon Z. Harlin

Funeral services for Raymon Z. Harlin, age 80, of Woodland will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2015, at 2:00 PM from Big Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Whaley and Rev. Otis Hodnett officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 PM on Saturday, August 15, 2015. Mr. Harlin will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Sunday.
Mr. Harlin passed away Thursday, August 13, 2015, at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Cantrell Harlin of Woodland; three sons, Barry Harlin (wife, Rhonda) of Roanoke, Donnie Harlin (wife, Lenita) of Roanoke, and Randal Harlin (wife, Rhonda) of Five Points; four step-sons, Monty Cantrell (wife, Sylvia), Alan Cantrell (wife, Becky), and Tracy Cantrell (wife, Diana), all of Woodland, and Stacy Cantrell (wife, Shannon) of Lineville; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; one sister, Helen Cline of Oxford, AL; and one brother, Jack Harlin of Lithia Springs, GA.
Pallbearers will be Mathew Harlin, Chris Mobley, Dalton Mobley, Clay Tinney, Adam Thornton, Slay Whaley, Stacy Cantrell, and Tracy Cantrell. Honorary pallbearers will be Abe Tinney, Eli Tinney, Coty Yarbrough, Preston Yarbrough, Micah Yarbrough, Connor Thornton, Caden Thornton, Tyler Cantrell, and Elijah Cantrell.
A long-time Randolph County resident, Mr. Harlin was born in Palmetto, Georgia, on August 26, 1934, the son of James Allen and Mary Robinson Harlin. He was a member of Big Springs Baptist Church and was owner of Harlin Trucking. Mr. Harlin was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Margaret Harlin.
Memorials may be floral or contributions may be made to Big Springs Baptist Church.

About Us
Quattlebaum’s was founded in 1930 by Robert B. Quattlebaum on Roanoke’s West Point Street. Relocated to Maple Drive, Quattlebaum Funeral Home was just across from Knight Sanatorium for many years. In 1953, a new building was constructed on College Street – where the funeral home is today.
