Obituary of Paul Leavere Brown, Sr.

Funeral services for Paul Leavere Brown, Sr., age 60, will be held on Friday, August 14, 2015, at 11:00 AM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mike Brewer, Rev. S.T. Janney, and Terry Sorrells officiating. Burial will follow at Welcome Home Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, August 13, 2015. Mr. Brown passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at Hospice LaGrange. Survivors include his wife, Becky Williamson Brown of Roanoke; one daughter, Tammy Pinkard (husband, Kevin) of Roanoke; three sons, James Robert Brown (wife, Cynthia), Paul Leavere Brown, Jr., (wife, Tabatha), and Roy Gene Brown, all of Roanoke; seven grandchildren; his mother, Clyde Brown of Roanoke; one sister, Patsy Pinkard; and two brothers, Jackie Brown and Ricky Brown. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Williamson, Chris Williams, Chad Green, Winford Coker, Tommy Pinkard, Matt Pinkard, David Coker, and Buster Coker. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Hand, Paul Caldwell, Dane Richardson, Randy Hudson, and Earl Hall. A Roanoke native, Mr. Brown was born on March 15, 1955, the son of Robert Lee and Clyde Hallogay Bradley Brown. He was a supervisor at Piedmont Mechanical and was an avid bass fisherman. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his father; one sister, Patricia Mitchell; and a niece, Barbie Brown.
