Funeral services for Carl Vaughn, age 87, of Wadley will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at 2:00 PM from Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Zenus Windsor officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday, March 13, 2015. Mr. Vaughn will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Saturday.
Mr. Vaughn passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at West Georgia Health in LaGrange, GA.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Christine Vaughn of LaGrange; one daughter, Cappie Carlisle (husband, Charlie) of Wadley; one son, Rev. Mickey Vaughn (wife, Jennifer) of Wadley; four grandchildren, Carla Cole of Roanoke, Summer Carlisle of Wadley, Phillip Albright of Wadley, and Zeb Vaughn of Wadley; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Dusty Cole, Zeb Vaughn, Phillip Albright, Ken Vaughn, Matthew Miller, and Brian Thomas.
A Randolph County native, Mr. Vaughn was born on May 8, 1927, the son of James S. and Elizabeth “Lizzie” Parrish Vaughn. He was a member of Lineville First Baptist and worked in farming and construction. Mr. Vaughn was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Mary Lou Vaughn; one son , Benjamin James Vaughn; and two brothers, his twin William Earl Vaughn and James Donald Vaughn.

About Us
Quattlebaum’s was founded in 1930 by Robert B. Quattlebaum on Roanoke’s West Point Street. Relocated to Maple Drive, Quattlebaum Funeral Home was just across from Knight Sanatorium for many years. In 1953, a new building was constructed on College Street – where the funeral home is today.
