Obituary of Dorothy Elizabeth Pate

Funeral services for Dorothy Elizabeth Pike Pate, age 82, of Roanoke will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2015, at 11:00 AM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Stoney Halsey officiating. Burial will follow at Pike Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, March 6, 2015.
Mrs. Pate passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Traylor’s Nursing Center.
Survivors include: two daughters, Evalena Pate of Roanoke and Jean Spratlin (husband, Ricky) of Roanoke; three sons, Vayden D. Pate of Roanoke, Greg Pate (wife, Pam) of Holly Pond, AL, and Demmy Pate (wife, Kathy) of Dothan, AL; eight grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Nathan Searer, Bruce Clark, Greg Pate, Daniel Pate, Josh Pate, and David Denham.
A lifelong resident of Randolph County, Mrs. Pate was born on May 13, 1932, the daughter of Elbert D. Pike and Irene Cumi Folsom. She was a member of Forest Home Christian Church and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Erving Danny Pate; one son, Lynnwood Pate; three sisters, Clemen Knight, Ruby Arrington, and Faris Arrington; and three brothers, Herbert Pike, Recel Pike, and David Pike.

About Us
Quattlebaum’s was founded in 1930 by Robert B. Quattlebaum on Roanoke’s West Point Street. Relocated to Maple Drive, Quattlebaum Funeral Home was just across from Knight Sanatorium for many years. In 1953, a new building was constructed on College Street – where the funeral home is today.
