Obituary of Ernestine Finch

Funeral services for Ernestine Finch, age 73, of Lawrenceville, GA, will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2015, at 1:00 PM from the First Baptist Church, Riley Street with Pastor Gilbert Staples and Rev. Jeffery Rosser officiating. Burial will follow at Skyview Memorial Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Ms. Finch passed away Sunday, January 25, 2015, in Roanoke. Survivors include: one daughter, Cynthia McClendon of Lawrenceville, GA; two sons, Nolan V. McClendon of Morrow, GA, and John E. Finch of Decatur, GA; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Edna Holmes of Roanoke and Glenda Boykin of Houston, TX; and two brothers, George Slay, Jr., of Roanoke and Bruce Slay of Stockbridge, GA. A Roanoke native, Ms. Finch was born on July 1, 1941, the daughter of George and Annie Pearl Winchester Slay. She worked as a baker for Marriott Hotel in Pleasant Hill, Georgia.
