Obituary of Rodney Shane Pinkard

Funeral services for Rodney Shane Pinkard, age 32, of Lanett, will be held Monday, June 14, 2010, at 2:00 pm (Central time) from Forest Home Christian Church with Rev. Terry Magby and Rev. Richie Farrow officiating. Burial will follow at the adjoining cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home of Roanoke in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at his father's residence, 1402 S. 8th Street, Lanett, on Sunday. Mr. Pinkard will lie in state at the church for one hour beginning at 1:00 pm (Central time) on Monday. Mr. Pinkard died Saturday, June 12, 2010, at Lanier Health Services, Valley. Survivors include his father, Willis Frank (Jeanelle) Pinkard of Lanett; his mother, Vanessa Joyce (Carl) Potts of Stockbridge, Ga.; grandparents, Rachael Smith of Roanoke, Herbert & Joyce Denham of Roanoke; one sister, Veronica (Mitchell) Colley of Lanett; one brother, Steven Michael Pinkard of Lanett; two half-sisters, Stephanie Pinkard and Leigh Ann Pinkard, both of Eureka, Ca.; one half-brother, Joseph Pinkard of Eureka, Ca.; two step-sisters, Deanna Potts of LaGrange, Ga. and Amber Potts of Vinton, Oh.; two step-brothers, Cody Potts of LaGrange and Anthony Potts of Columbus. Pallbearers will be Wade Thompson, Cody Potts, Jack Barber, Jason Hester, Gene Slaughter, Joey Godfrey, Brandon Godfrey and Chris Pinkard. A lifelong resident of Valley, Mr. Pinkard was a Randolph County native, born Aug. 19, 1977.
