Obituary of Mary Reeves

Funeral Services for Mrs. Mary Reeves, age 88, of Roanoke will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at 11:00 AM from Roanoke United Methodist Church with Rev. Ralph Barrow and Rev. Paul Messer officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. The family will receive friends at Roanoke First United Methodist Church from 10:00-11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 2, 2014. Mrs. Reeves passed away Sunday, November 30, 2014, at Hospice LaGrange. Survivors include two daughters, Sabra Burns (husband, Steve) of Roanoke and Katina Walker (husband Kem) of Roanoke; four grandchildren, Tia W. Whaley, Seth Walker, Leigh B. Alcorn, and Luke Burns; and three great-grandchildren, Lorianna Whaley, Isabella Whaley, and Celia Reeves Walker. Pallbearers will be Steve Burns, Kem Walker, Seth Walker, Luke Burns, Benji Whaley, and Darrin Alcorn. A Covington County native, Mrs. Reeves was born on September 24, 1926, the daughter of James and Eunice Parrish Lord. Mrs. Reeves was a member of Roanoke First United Methodist Church and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Deane Edwards Sunday school class and a member of the Crepe Myrtle Garden Club. Mrs. Reeves was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Roy Reeves. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made either to the Roanoke First United Methodist Church or to one's favorite charity.
