Allison, Alan, & Family:
I am Genette's cousin and classmate of both Genette and Cleve at CCHS. Genette was the valedictorian of our class, and also pleasant and good-hearted. I think my fondest memory of Genette was at an event where I was not present due to being on active duty with the U.S. Army She was a hostess and kept the brides's book at a tea honoring my fiance, Betty McCullar in 1961. Betty wrote me about how gracious Genette was to her. That's the way she was.
God bless all of you.

Coach Aiken...I have so many memories of you......One of them is when you were mad with an umpire he threw you out of the game and you said to us walking out...."if I cussed, I would let a few roll off my tongue"....classic. You will be missed. My prayers to Allison Allen and your husband - The Lord will give you the strength you do not have in yourself right now and for the times to come. May your beautiful soul rest in peace.

Genette began teaching in Lanett my senior year. I did not have her for a teacher, but knew others who did. She was a kind, fair teacher. The next time our paths crossed was in Delta Kappa Gamma, the national sorority for teachers. During that time, Genette and Cleve found that their prayers had been answered and they were going to be parents. About that time LaFayette and I also were expecting. Genette and I were both patients of Dr. Bob Mullins. Allison was born before our Thomas. Three years later, Genette had Allen and I went into the hospital the day after she was released to have our son, John. We were both older mothers, andboth so very proud of our children! To you, her children, I grieve for you, but I know you have a strong faith and books full of happy memories.

Coach Aikens Family:
I played my first year at Southern Union when the school began it's Softball Program. She loved her children, husband and S.U. children. If we needed anything, she wanted to know because most of us were away long from home. I had some times which I will never forget. Thanks Coach!

"Miss Tatum" as we knew her in 10th grade Biology was one of the best teachers I ever had. She must have only been about 23 when she taught us. We all loved her so much and so sorry to hear of her passing.

Miss Tatum, as we knew her back in Lanett High School, year 1961-62, was the most wonderful teacher. She was smart, kind and excited about biology. Therefore, we all were excited about it. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. She must have been a precious mother. My family kept up with her and your family when my dad pastored at Abanda Baptist and later at Pleasant Hill. My prayers are with you all as you move forward.

Miss Tatum (as I knew you), I think of you every time that I try to identify a tree by its leaves since we had to have leaf collections in Biology. I also remember that you let Charles Yates and me redo our science fair project after it blew off the top of his mother's car in the rain. You were truly the nicest teacher I ever had at Lanett and I thought of you often.
