Obituary of James E. Moree

Funeral services for James Elon "Jim" Moree, Sr., age 83, of Alexandria, will be held Sunday, July 7, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jamie Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Antioch Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Saturday, July 6th. Mr. Moree died Saturday, July 1, 2013, at his home. He is survived by his wife, Julia Kirby Moree of Alexandria; one daughter, Belinda K. Blackburn (husband, Glenn) of Anniston; one son, James E. "Butch" Moree, Jr., of Colorado Springs, CO; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Butch Moree, Jason Moree, Glenn Blackburn, Elden Ross, Scott Brasseal, and Marc Tupman. A Randolph County native, Mr. Moree was born September 12, 1929, son of John Ceaphus and Carrie Segrest Moree. He was a member of Antioch Christian Church and had been employed as a polygraph examiner with the U.S. government.
