OBITUARY
Funeral services for Deborah Sue Vaughn, age 51, of Roanoke, will be held Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at 2:00 pm from Heritage Baptist Church with Rev. Jody Overton and Rev. Derick Farr officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, March 16th. Mrs. Vaughn will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services on Tuesday.
Mrs. Vaughn died Saturday, March 14, 2015, at her home.
Survivors include her husband, John Ken Vaughn of Roanoke; two daughters, Tiffany Shree Shiflett Collins (husband, Cole) of Tarpon Springs, FL and Deborah Nicole Vaughn of Roanoke; two sisters, Vicky Cummings (husband, Steve) of Alexander City and Runita Weldon of Valley; her step-father, Joseph Woodlee of Temple, GA; a half-brother, Bert Brown of Anniston; a step-brother, Bo Waldrep of Roanoke; and a special friend, Lou-Ann Whitley of Roanoke.
Pallbearers will be Keith Walker, Steven Cummings, Matthew Cummings, Jose Trejo, Casey Hester and Joe Hughes. Glenn Shiflett will serve as honorary pallbearer.
A Randolph County resident for most of her life, Mrs. Vaughn was born in Piedmont, Alabama, on June 7, 1963, the daughter of Lloyd Louis and Ruth Evelyn Owens Brown. She was a member of Heritage Baptist Church and had been employed with Bremen-Bowdon Investments. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Woodlee; father, Lloyd Brown; three sisters, Patricia Ann Kaylor, Eunice Lynn Woody and Allison Leemaster Brown; nephew, Matthew Scott Woody; niece, Brittany Paige Woody.
Memorials may be floral or the family suggests contributions to the American Lung Association (55 W. Wacker Drive, Suite 150, Chicago, IL 60601) for COPD research.

Quattlebaum’s was founded in 1930 by Robert B. Quattlebaum on Roanoke’s West Point Street. Relocated to Maple Drive, Quattlebaum Funeral Home was just across from Knight Sanatorium for many years. In 1953, a new building was constructed on College Street – where the funeral home is today.
